Sh.
Tapeshwar Pandey was a yogi whose transformation happened when he
met the great Vivekananda in Bengal in his youth. Deeply moved by
the Vedanta Philosophy as taught by Vivekananda; he studied it
thoroughly and started practicing the yogic techniques associated
with it. Over the years, his tapasya intensified and he became an
admired spiritual leader in Bihar. |

The late Sh. Tapeshwar
Pandey was a simple man who used to live in a Shiva temple in Bihar.
Every morning after his meditation near the Ganga would impart
valuable teachings to his grandson (Dhananjay Pandey). Pandeyji has
had innumerable experiences of which he has recounted one: |
|
“Every morning my
grandfather used to meditate near a river. The river was full of
fresh water fish, jumping and swimming in the water. He used to feed
them every day, and sometimes I would find him swimming in the water
with the fish! |

|
One day the
river was sold to a bunch of city dwellers who wanted to fish there.
Although there was no restriction on his meditation – the city
dwellers decided to fish there to make money. On seeing this, my
grandfather was saddened and tried to convince them multiple times
to not fish there. However on seeing no change in their behaviour,
he used his yogic powers on a few grains of rice and threw them into
the water |

When
the city dwellers tried to fish there were no fish in the net.
All the fish had disappeared. “ |
